blankets.

My first attempt at a double-sided baby blanket. I crocheted the blue side, then sewed the furry brown side together...it turned out pretty nicely. At least baby Jeremiah seems o like it.

I finally finished this. It was worked in strips. and then crocheted together, then the edge put on. I think overall it came out nice. I had the yarn before I decided what to make, I wasn't certain that it would come out good enough, but I really liked how it turned out. At the moment I'm trying to finish one other project...I'll snap a pic when it's done too.

I spilled hot oil on my NOSE

I've been walking around for 5 days with an incredibly RED nose.
The real story is, that Sat. Jake and I went to the park to start our Ultimate Fribee get togethers. (as my other blog mentions we went out the previous week to check things out...) So we had fairly good weather (despite the snow we had during the week prior) that Sat. at 12 when everyone started arriving. We got the game going and all was going great. We played for 2 hours before we decided to break for lunch. We drove to another nearby park that had a grill and we (Jake and some of the guys) cooked some hamburgers and we camped out on the lawn to eat and chat.

3 hours later...I had to get going for a photo shoot....

I arrived at my rendezvous with my subject for pics, and they mentioned that my face looked really burnt....I hadn't noticed up until then.....and then I started feeling how.....you know how chicken is when you cook it a certain way...the skin sort of separates from the meat and gets really crispy...(i think it's baked, but i'm not for sure..maybe rotisserie) anyhoo.

that's how my nose feels.
it blistered a bit.
and started pussing a little..(sorry for the graphics.)
and then today...4 days later, I blew my nose this morning, and it started bleeding where the skin is cracked....

it doesn't hurt if I don't move it....haha....try being an expressive ASL interpreter and NOT move your nose....it's a skill.

anyhoo. I want to take a pic of it, but hasn't happened yet...

(I'm the girl who takes pics of everything, just haven't gotten around to it yet.....I'll ask jake to do it later tonight...then i'll try to post it.....(i know i keep promising pics......just call me a slacker.))

I hope it heals soon...

as always thanks for reading

my dad is a wonderful man

as I didn't have a real Father figure much of my life, I have a huge appreciation for my adopted daddy, Dave Hahn. Dad and Mom, Terri, two wonderful God loving human beings have been such an impact in my life...God is so good to have given me these amazing people.

To all of you reading with dads, or moms....don't forget to show your love to them, even with all of your busy lives....it's worth it.

Dad, if you are reading. Thanks for loving me the way that you do. You are a blessing!
Thanks for caring so much.

I love you.

Great weekends

I have had the best time during these past few weekends.

Most recently, Jake and I helped clean up a basketball court with some friends....it was such a nice day!!!
Then we went to a nearby park and played frisbee with a new friend of ours...(his wife was sick, so it was just the 3 of us...) We're practicing to start an Ultimate Frisbee League...type thing.
It was really windy, but i was wearing a t-shirt, and it felt AWESOME.

Later that night we crammed some 20 people into our livingroom (and for those of you who were there, or have seen the size of our sitting area....it was a lot of fun times.)...we played Pop 5, Mafia and 4 on a couch! it was fabulous, we had at least 24 empty MT.Dew cans when everyone left....it was just a great time of hanging out, various conversations.....it was a blast..

then sunday....after church we sat through a bit of a friends baby shower...and played haki sak/seepa...whatever you want to call it...and then (i was supposed to do a photo shoot, but the wind was acting like a tornado was about to show up any minute....) so instead jake and i went home and watched Alias season 3 from about 230-930...it was so much fun.

It's so nice just to relax..to the point, that work the next day didn't sound too fun!....(but i went anyway.)

I'm really thankful for the time I get to work.....but I love that I/We take advantage of every second that is available during "down" time. It makes all the time at work seem ....not so bad.

(dont get me wrong, i love both my jobs and the people i work around.....it's just ...

NICE.)

I figure i don't add enough posts, i'll take pics next week at the frisbee get together, and i'll post them

promise...
really

i will

as always...thanks for reading..

(AND what's with the blizzard?..just in time for brook's visit eh?)

Little Wonders

Aside from enjoying that wonderful song by Rob Thomas...and the movie Meet the Robinsons...I wanted to share something that happened to me yest.

It was thursday, and this week I'd been going from job A to job b for 4 days straight. I was a bit tired. SO i called jake while driving between jobs. ( i know mary, don't be mad at me...) He actually answered which was wonderful because he is normally still at work.

I told him I had been craving a cookie or candy bar or something to munch on...snacks, i needed something to snack on!! BUt i didn't have anything, and no time to stop anywhere....so i asked for prayer for a smooth easy evening...and with that we exchanged i love yous, and i headed into my job #2

I can't say too much in detail as per what happened at work, but I was fortunately blessed by some "easy type of calls."......for the 1st hour. and then i went to the break room, and to my pleasant surprise...there were two jars full of mini candy bars!!!! (earlier i had mentioned to jake which kinds sounded good...i listed off 3 i think.) NO KIDDING the mini candy bars....all 3 that i told jake were there AND MORE!!
i was elated.

i got back to work, enjoy everything that was happening, and later on i went back into the break area....and a friend opened up the cupboards...and pulled out CHIPS (that was the other specific item i mentioned to jake that i really really wanted to eat!!) I was so happy i almost wanted to cry. My night switched around...(whether it was the sugar from the 6 mini candy bars I ate, or from a positive and happy spirit....)

I got home and told jake how wonderful God is. I know it seems like silly coincidents, being that it was the beginning of the month, and food does typically get stocked around that time, but i'd prefer to chalk it up to the Omniscient Creator taking care of His baby girl. I'll take God's side any time!!

as always thanks for reading.
I got this from a friends site too.

How well do you know your husband....it was fun....hopefully jake will read this and let me know how well i did. smiles....enjoy reading!
