Memorial day hike. Ben Lomand. We wanted to find a place that we could hike into, then camp, then go hiking more the next day. We researched about where the snow would be, and the weather, and we set off on our adv enture. This is me looking back as we started up the trail. It was a gorgeous day.
One of our resting spots. Just before we hit the hard stuff. I was huffing a lot up this piece of rock, but the view was great...until the dark clouds started rolling in...
Jake is just out of this frame up the hill that you can see Susanna and Michael hiking up...Jake went ahead, and I needed some encouragement that there was, in fact, dry land up on the plateau suitable for us to camp out on....and it turned out, there was.
This was a window shot in thoughts of the Moore girls. Quite the site if I may say so myself.
Our very creative cooking...zuccini, hotdogs, bananas and marshmellows...quite the feast.
Susanna took this one...think we were waiting for the campfire or something...as you can see, it was somewhat warm....enough for just a tank-top...but that didn't last very long.
The next morning..we woke up to fog...or clouds, whatever you want to call it at the elevation we were at...it was cool to see, but as you can probably tell, the fascination didn't last long once the rain, and yes, hail too started...
This was the view out the window a little later that first evening....and the next morning..we wound up hiking out of the moutains in this weather. Jake and I didnt' have waterproof clothes with us...the pics once we got to the truck didn't turn out so well, cause we were cold, the camera was cold, so you'll just have to use your imagination. It was a fun adventure though!
