Moon Lake

Jake's parents and brother are here visiting from Minn. We went up to Moon Lake for a few days. It was a little rainy, but not enough to interfere with our hiking.
We went on a hike basically following the lake. It was neat, cause the terrain kept changing. It was rocky, marshy, forresty....it was as diverse as the Utah landscape.

First night for dinner Mike cooked Brautworsts over the fire, and the boys chopped up some veggies and cooked them out in the great outdoors. Quite delish...

This was at the beginning of the hike. It was such a beautiful view from every angle.

The first day we took a brief walk. It just so happened to be the same hike we woule take the next day. The boys got ahead, cause Mary and I kept stopping to take photos. They were kind enough to say cheese for this one.

Some of the trees were dying. We found out it was a because of beetle. It made the woods look like it was in the middle of Autumn.

I got to touch the water of course!

I love God's beauty.

We stopped so I could take a pic of roadkill, and the beauty that we were driving past. On the way out to Moon Lake, we took an alt. driving route. 35, I think. It was a mazing. I recommend it to anyone that is driving that way.

The boys at the cabin. It was a nice temporary home. And the guys that run the resort there are awesome. Very helpful and friendly.

The lighting on this one is nice.

It's me and the baby...
Jake and his new hiking boots.
The pics aren't in any kind of order...but as always, thanks for reading.
and if you can, get out and enjoy the good weather while we have some.

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate Frisbee is the new Football...are you in?
Every Saturday a group of us gets together and plays U.F.

The group changes everyweek, sometimes the boys just break out in dance...or at least that's what this looks like.

Check out the muscles on my husband..woot woo!

Best shot that I've gotten thus far...Michael is the one who caught this one....guess white men can't jump!

Look at how determined these two are.....hehehe.

One Gerhardt, or two? it looks like the two headed, three legged moster....smiles.

I like to play, but I also know when to walk away...and when to run!

What can I say, Jake is in love.

Jesse taking good care of the baby frisbee....
Amazing catch Mr. Metzger.
If anyone is intersted, come on out....it's great fun. But, be prepared to go away exhausted.!

Ben Lomond up Ogden Canyon

One of our resting spots. Just before we hit the hard stuff. I was huffing a lot up this piece of rock, but the view was great...until the dark clouds started rolling in...Jake is just out of this frame up the hill that you can see Susanna and Michael hiking up...Jake went ahead, and I needed some encouragement that there was, in fact, dry land up on the plateau suitable for us to camp out on....and it turned out, there was.

And yes, I made it to the top and it was good.

Susanna took this one...think we were waiting for the campfire or something...as you can see, it was somewhat warm....enough for just a tank-top...but that didn't last very long.

You may be asking yourself...

What have I been up to..here are a few picks. This first one is of Micheal teaching us the Merangue...we've been taking lessons for about one month now....We had about 3 lessons for the Merengue, and we started the Bachatta...(sp?) It's been very entertaining thus far...This is Corey, Jake, Erin and I at Group...Bible Study, whatever you want to call it...they are the couple that we met from Chicago, and have been fairly inseparable since we met.

who could resist?

oh, aren't they cute...
