normal

I'm sitting here at home. Jake is playing a gig up in PC. Emmaus is asleep. I'm nervous to "start" anything for fear he may wake up. I know this is a normal feeling. It feels I'm a bit trapped in my own home. Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoy this "Mom" thing. I feel needed/loved/blessed, and then some. It's just...different I guess is the word for it. I go back to work on Tuesday. Jake will be Mr. Mom or stay at home dad, or whatever you want to call it.

I'm curious to see how my energy level is going to be while at work, and how sleeping and feedings will be when i have to be at work at 9am. I'm hoping that Emmaus will meld with my schedule as per when he's hungry. I know everything will work out, and I'm very grateful/greatful ( i never remember how to spell that silly word) that Jake gets to be at home with our son. I just want things to be the best they can be. I want our hospital bills to get paid off sooner than later. I want to buy some simple furniture so our house is comfy for us and guests. I want Jake to get the things he wants for his garden/yard. I want the pictures put up on the all in a way that I like and Jake doesn't feel that it looks "cluttered." I want time to visit friends and family and to fellowship with people over a meal. I hope people aren't put off because I have to stop and feed sometimes when we're playing games or hanging out. I want to travel to places near and far.

God, I thank you for your provision as always. For the birth and health of Emmaus and Jake and myself. For the love of my family and friends near and far. I pray for peace and understanding knowing that you know the desires of my heart and that everything will be wonderful and we will enjoy this life to the fullest because we can and because you give us reason to live. Lord, you are my everything and thank you for ...everything. Amen.

I better sign off before he wakes up and needs a diaper change. smiles. and as always. thanks for reading.

Hope you will continue to read. !!! Being a mom is work, but well worth it. He's a great baby and is growing bigger and bigger everyday...(I hear that's normal.) smiles. more to come. and as always, thanks for reading.

waiting.../Birthday recap

Nothing really new to report...Well, we had our 2nd baby shower, which again was AMAZING! We are so blessed and honored to have so many people care and provide so generously.

My birthday came and went, again Awesome. (but it always is.) I was willing to share the 19th yet again with another blood relative (baby U) but it decided to leave that date for myself (and the rest of the world that shares that date...check your FB, tell me how many people you know that were born on the 19th, my current count of people born on Jan. 19th is: 8...and that's just off the top of my head.

I took the day off, and got my car fixed...
the shop I have been doing my oil changes at thought the problem was my power steering pump...we waited till we afford that, then went in and they said, just kidding, it's something in the engine, the head, and to take it to my dealership...

This was th first thing I was doing on my beautiful birthday, I was really proud, no tears, no anger, just called Saturn to ask their availability and drove over to the salon next door to get my hair trimmed. I figured I'd get one last trim before the baby came, since it might be awhile before I get to go again, just a trim, no one even noticed, no worries.
I'm trying to grow it out again, seems like it has taken a long time...probably because as I was growing it out, I had layers put in, and they were NG (no good.) so now, it's a little past my shoulders, and hopefully will take off now, we'll see, i miss my long hair, I chopped it off on my GGMa Cassie's 100th b-day, 5 years ago...wow.

Then I went and picked up my friend Erin who had agreed to run some errands with me/spend quality birthday time together, and then picked Jake up to drive downtown heading for the dealership. Dropped off my car, and went to GREEK SOUVLAKI! My favorite place to eat, ever, it was awesome. The dealership called to say that the problem with my car was the Idler pulley and the serpantine belt...and the cost of it was actually LESS than what we had orignially thought! I was stoked, so they set to work on it, and we walked over to Cafe D'Bolla for Bubble Tea/Boba/Tapioka..whatever you prefer to call it. my favorite drink place! I had the coconut flavor, delicious.

The car finished up, so Jake went back home and Erin and I went on to urn more errands. I went to Sonic Car wash and got my car detailed! that was much fun as well, then drove to Sears to visit my dear friend Char. I hadn't seen her in awhile...as we were leaving I saw this really cute baby sleeper..SOOO SOFT and bought it...$4, it was awesome, normally like $20. yeah for bargains.

(Funny enough, now that I don't work at th portrait studio, i have a kid, after 10 years of access to their awesome 20% discount off of clother and other picture discount, now i don't work there, funny times. I have hook ups still, but it's not the same, just thought it was funny.)

So I dropped Erin off shortly after that, cause my parents wanted to take jake and I to a movie. We watched Sherlock Holmes, and it was awesome. I highly recommend it to others.

Then off to sushi...Yummies! I didn't have anything that was raw, everything was either fishless, or tampura...or cooked. we all ate like pigs, it was awesome.

and there ya have it!..

oh, one other thing. The day before, jake and i were on the phone and he tells me that my birthday present wouldn't be there on Tuesday. (disclosure: jake doesn't really do "presents.." if I want something, we'll agree to get it or not..but he rarely comes up with things on his own to "surprise me."..(i typically ruin the surprises if he does try anyway)) POINT BEING...I was like okay, and he says ..I went to Target, and Shopko and WALMART and Bed Bath and Beyond (a: jake hates shopping and B: he really doesn't like walmart or BBB) so I was really curious as to what he was looking for....He says, so I ordered your gift online, and it'll be here sometime next week. so, I asked, Are you going to tell me now what it is, or do i wait, he says, you'll want to know now...i think: okay...

he said: no stores sell Soup Spoons. Not in sets, or on their own.

.I almost cried out of thoughtfullness as to how awesome and amazing my husband is. Here's the background story. (sorry I know this post is getting long, but then again, i'm long winded as it is.)
For as long as I can remember..I've loved soup spoons. i'm not a HUGE soup eater, but there's something about soup spoons that I just love. Jake knew that, and we'd looked around when we registestered for the wedding, but nothing really popped up, and it's not like I've always been like : i need soup spoons or i'll die, just one of those "wish list" items.
I want to give Jake a HUGE awesomest husband award for being so sweet and thoughtful and going above and beyond to give me one of those silly trivial things that makes my spirit soar, and that huge smile to appear on my face. I just hope that I return the feeling to him frequently! he deserves it.

As a custom I set up a few years ago, I started counting all the people that wish me a happy birthday/text/email, and now I get to count FB. I lost an exact count, but from what I remember, there was over 60 people. It is such a blessing to be appreciated/remembered and cared about so much.
To all of you....and you know who you are..I LOVE YOU and Thanks.

as always, thanks for reading.

Christmas Eve

susanna contacted us "prosphatos" about getting together again and doing a dance for Christmas eve. I think this was back in late October/November. All I could think was, I'll be almost 9 months pregnant at that time, but SURE why not. The song we danced to was by Relienk K called I celebrate the day, here's a link to the lyrics if you want: http://www.metrolyrics.com/i-celebrate-the-day-lyrics-relient-k.htmlI was concerned I would be the "mary" while we were dancing with baby Jesus represented in my womb....SOOO glad my girls are better than that...We coordinated our outfits to wear gray tops, black skirts, and leggins, and Elizabeth lent us scarves she brought back from Cambodia....and wore them on different parts of our body during the dance...It turned out awesome...
We all did our parts with the choreography...It's been such a long time since I danced with these ladies I felt like ...I didn't know anything and couldn't remember anything!...but it worked out well..it was a blessing to dance at Oasis again, to spend time with my girls...practicing and chatting, to dance before the Lord with all my heart, and to give the baby the feeling of rolling, and moving around so gracefully. Thanks to all who support us...We'll be dancing again this sunday at e-vin as part of our "Storm" theme for Arts Group..come one come all.

Christmas 2009

We are trying to do Christmas everyother year with Jakes fam and my fam. This is a My fam year...rather we stay in Utah year...so first thing Christmas morning...we make:Monkey Bread...
Then we skyped Jakes parents and opened our Christmas socks online with them...and this is a shot of the baby's first Christmas gift...bibs...It was fun...even though we couldnt' be with them on Christmas morning, it was nice to see them and chat and such...

We went to a nursing home with e-vin and sang carols, it was really nice...the people there were over joyed to have visitors and guests, then we went to Mom and Dads...for a delicious breakfast of biscuits and gravy..and mom made waffles too, but all I wanted was more biscuits, they were delicious, hopefully we've started a tradition...
(jojo is so weird sometimes, and bumbles knows it!)

then we went to erin and corey's...they were scratching like cats to open the gift, cause I LOVE TAPE and it took a minute to find the weak spot in the wrapping. Corey and Jake and I discovered the game Dominion about 2 months ago at a local game place...we've all 4 been playing it A LOT...there's an expansion, Intrigue, that can be played alone or with Dominion, ...I had to get it for them for Christmas...we didn't do many gifts for people at all, but this one was important, and THEY WOULDN"T open it till Christmas morning..silly nillies, it was a fun time spending Christmas with our new found best friends!

The boys love analyzing things together, they have similar minds when it comes to that. Corey's been really good for Jake.

Our First Christmas together we took a pic like this at our apt with our Christmas socks, I wanted to have anotherone this year...maybe next year, we'll get baby's feet in there too!!! smiles...

week:35

35 weeks of baby was also new years eve...I've already posted pics from that night, but here are a couple more...for sake of the 35 week marker: Jake leading the murder myster evening...explaining the happenings and what we were supposed to find out.
My 35 week pic of the belly..fun times...can't wait to show the baby this one...

My hands have started swelling quite a bit, so i'm done now with my rings..they are in safe keeping till after I have my baby! You'd think with as much as I move my hands that they wouldn't get swollen, oh well, nothing showing so far in my feet or ankles, i have that to be thankful for! Praise God for a smooth pregnancy

week:36

This is the cute skirt I bought before I started showing. I was feeling extra cute, so I wanted a pic..this was the night before my official 36 week mark...so here you have it!and I like to take a pic with jake too, he was in a silly mood this night...he's adorable, I love it when he's silly.
